Yamuna® Body Rolling consists of a series of specific routines that uses specially designed balls to combine the release of massage with the strengthening and toning of exercise.  The ball applies gentle traction that frees connective tissue, re-educates muscles to fully release, and de-codes habitual holding patterns.

The Balls: Which one to choose?

If you are starting with only one ball, the Gold ball is the beginner ball and you are able to use it all over the body (except the zones that you do not roll directly on: tail bone, floating ribs & xiphoid process where the base of the sternum is). Also the best ball for aging bodies and post injury.

Pearl ball is also great for smaller people, for travel, and for use at the office.

Black balls are ideal for more detailed work of the hips, shoulders and lower legs. I never travel without one.

Silver ball is a denser material and thus penetrates deeper into the tissues. Ideal for large leg muscles and back after gaining some basic experience in rolling.

Eventually having a set of all the balls allows you to pick and choose what your specific intention and needs are and to use the balls that best suit the routine and area you are focusing on.

Why I love Yamuna® Body Rolling

After my first class I was a convert.  I could sense and drastically see the changes immediately in myself. I wished I had had this in my tool bag years earlier, I know I would have spared myself several injuries.

It keeps my body from falling apart, especially when I can only fit in the essential routines into my schedule.  When I have time for more, it allows me to move through minor injuries and even discover things that were long forgotten about.  I love the feeling of being longer and lighter and the spaciousness. I deeply appreciate the sense of truly “being” in myself and feeling my true centre after a good roll. I am a more grounded person after I roll myself out.  I enjoy continually having new sensations when I work with a different ball in a certain area of the body.  I love that I can work on my entire body and keep myself on track, functional, able to release tension and pain.  I still enjoy massage therapy occasionally, but the need for it is much less now that I can maintain my body with the balls.  

I love that I can travel with my balls and roll even in transit!  I love seeing people experience the release in their own body after their first roll.  It is an immediate release and people can see and feel it in themselves.  And then they can take it home with them and work on themselves anytime.
