Namchi Bazar, BFA
Namchi Bazar developed her unique somatic approach to core wellness over 25 years as a professional dancer, Pilates Instructor, Yamuna® Body Rolling Practitioner and mother of three. She is compassionate, sincere and enthusiastic as she helps people feel their best in their body-mind.
Her group classes and private sessions are grounding, with a clear focus on experiential anatomy and functional movement in a dynamic and supportive learning environment. Namchi encourages authenticity and listening inwards, and believes that conscious action fosters greater self-awareness and empowerment. She embraces movement education as tools for self care, self regulating, and self preservation in terms of recovering from pregnancy and birth, habitual holding patterns, injury recovery and aging gracefully.
Namchi is a graduate of the Department of Contemporary Dance from Concordia University, a certified Pilates Instructor from the Structural Studies Institute in Montreal under the guidance of Rosemarie Geist, D.O., and is a certified practitioner of Yamuna® Body Rolling. Namchi is a Certified Essential Somatics® Movement Educator trained under Martha Peterson in the tradition of Hanna Somatics. Namchi is also a qualified level 3 trainer in the Hypopressives® Method under Trista Zinn, which takes a whole body approach to pelvic health and core function. She is fascinated at how these very subtle yet highly effective movements support optimal movement, pain free living and heightened self awareness.
She has taught in Vancouver, Montreal, Charlottetown, the Gulf Islands, abroad and online, working with a variety of people from pregnant and postpartum mums, the golden age, teens and athletes with an emphasis on women’s health. Namchi’s past dance work includes performances for the Cirque du Soleil and Sayari Productions in India.
Some of her noteworthy mentors include Gioia Irwin, master yogi and creator of the Tensegrity Repair series, Crystal Pite, creative mastermind choreographer, Liam Lavelle, her first Pilates teacher and Taylore Carre of Divine Balance Yoga, senior Yamuna® teacher trainer in Canada.
Aside from her focus on core support, functional movement and pain free well-being, Namchi maintains a healthy lifestyle for her family, and continues to explore avenues for creativity, self-sensing and holistic wellness.
